Hi guys,

My GA-X48-DS5 works only 3 months and now seems in problem. My system now is randomly hang on Windows boot up logo. I did following before I conclude that is GA-X48-DS5 problem.

1) Keep all setting as Default and no Overclocking.
2) RAM modules tested by Mem 86+ and Windows Memory Disg Disk is OK; no error was found.
3) Use a clean HDD that was no problem on another Gigabyte mobo to install a New Windows XP (that should be good enough to ensure no HDD problem and no Windows conflict in new system).

The system hangs again on the reboot after completely installed the Windows. Either all HDDs are mounted or just 1 HDD is mounted, the Windows is hang on booting logo.

I found the GA-X48-DS5 is no longer available in Market, I just wonder if this X48 mobo is a trash so Gigabyte fade it out very fast. I am going to RMA the mobo as a spare board as I have no trust on Gigabyte quality, and buy a MSI X48 mobo. Before buying a new mobo, I would like to see you guys advice if I had missing some important steps on trouble shooting.

I forgot to mention that the temperature of my system was good, I used the Core Temp, SpeedFan and Everest etc to check temperature etc daily and found CPU temperature are just 37 degree at idle and 46~48 degree at full load. The only problem was the Everest Report always report the +12V is zero voltage however actual voltage measured on +12V is 11.9x Volt. The mobo temp also within 40 degree at all the time. The RAM modules put in on another PC and they work fine too.

Last evening I take out all of the hardware in this computer set and found the bracket of the APACK cooler at bottom side may be not fully isolated even the package claimed the bracket was completely isolated; I add some additional double side tape and re-install the cooler. Everything are fine still now.
