I am building a new PC for gaming and multitasking. I was looking at ASUS P45 P5Q MB's but since I am not planning on using crossfire, forum members recommended I get an X35 board. Will the latest games still play as well on the X35? Do I give up anything by getting the P35?

So, should I go with this P45 board

or with this X35 board?

Intel never release X35 chipset. If you make reference to a X38, it's a chipset to do crossfire (2 x x16 lanes)

The second board is a P35. It contains 1 x16 PCIe and 1 x4 PCIe. he's able to do crossfire but the second card is bottlenecked by the x4 interface.

The p45 is the newest chipset, PCIe x16 2.0. The P5Q Pro is a nice mobo.
