I have a Pioneer HDTV which works great via my HDTV cable box. But
today I decided to "upgrade" to a SA 8300 HD DVR. Without changing my
cables or anything else, I plugged the new box in. My colors became
"solarized." Thinking that I had a defective box, I exchanged it.
Same problem. I don't know what to do. I'm using my component
inputs. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had the same problrm with my DVD player.

Make sure the TV and the DVR are setup for component
inputs (not S-VID) and maybe progressive scan.

.... also, I've found that the green and blue cables can be easily mixed if
you are trying to match colors with less than optimal lighting back there
