So I am debating what memory to get with my new rig. what is the real difference between this memory.

and

I mean they both have the same timings and cas latency, is the only difference the heat sinks on the first one?

Go for the cheap one, if you have good airflow it doesn't really matter

How about this. Lower timings, lower voltage, less money.

so do you want lower timings, lower voltage, and higher cas latency to get maximum performance?

slayeron444 top pair is 1.8 volt ram the bottom pair is 1.9 volt other than that yes the heat sink, top pair is supposed to have better heat sink.but I wouldn't pay more just for that better heat spreader.

Timings and latency are the same thing, in 5-5-5-18 the first 5 is cas latency.

The RAM you chose is 5-5-5-18 1.9v
The RAM I chose is 5-4-4-12 at the JEDEC standard 1.8v
The RAM I chose are capable of better timings at lower voltage which means they are using better chips.

I tried to just copy and paste but for some reason the links wouldn't carry over. Read the post I did in this thread.
