Audigy 2 ZS driver issue

Ive had numerous driver problems with my Audigy 2 zs, I thought I was on to something when I installed the latest drivers and they were working fine.. until I opened WoW.. at that point my media player music simply stopped making noise, along with youtube, vent, or any other application except WoW. When I closed WoW the sound magically began playing again.. I'm assuming this is a direct sound issue, but all of the drivers I seem to have tried have had one issue or another, which Is why I want to fix this problem without uninstalling this driver. Any tips?.... direct sound tests were all passed.
