Hi,
I have a NVIDIA BFG 8800 gtx graphic card which sits on a 680i motherboard running 32bit VISTA/SP1. I recently went to the NVIDIA site and downloaded the latest graphic drivers. When rebooting the PC the screen displays 'Out of Range' and remained black screened until I rebooted the pc iin safe mode and restored the original drivers. I have tried the latest drivers form several sites and get the same problem.
Has anyone experienced this problem before?
Currently my PC is running fine with the graphic drivers...
Any chance you can load the new drivers, then boot into safe mode and set the refresh rate there? Put it at 60Hz and boot into windows normally. If successful, change the refresh rate to whatever windows windows allows, 70-75 would be good. Unless of course you have an LCD, in which case 60Hz is fine.

I had similar problem yesterday on friends pc where after new driver install screen was only showing background image at low resolution no icons, mouse cursor or anything else.. This is what I did: reboot in safe mode , uninstall nvidia display drivers, reboot, safe mode again, log in as administrator, install new drivers. Works fine now.
