I cant turn my pc on

Hi we have just come back off holiday and when i tried to turn on my pc nothing happened. I looked at the tower and a faint blue light was on. I held power button in for a while and then it came up with a load of garb and said press f1 to continue or del for set up. The del option is confusing to me, so I pressed f1 and it took me to my log in page. Everything was fine at the end of day I shut down. The following morning the same thing. What can I do to stop this from happening? It was working perfectly before we went away and not touched till I tried to turn it on on my return.

How old is the PC -Is system date/time correct ? May need to replace the CMOS battery.
