Cannot install XP or any Windows

Hello,

I have bought

- ASUS P5KPL-AM in/roem
- Intel Celeron E3300
- 1GB of ram
- WD3200AAKS

And put it all together. I start installation from a bootable Win XP, and when it starts up, I create partitions, and at the next step I need to format the HDD, whatever option I chose(quick or normal NTFS format), my computer freezes at 0% and that is it....

The same happens with Win XP 32bit and 64bit, with Win 7 the machine reboots after the installation message "Starting window..."

I have reset my BIOS setting to factory defaults.

Any one had this kind of issue? Any suggestions?

Maybe a bad hard drive. Put it in another PC, and try to format it as a slave drive.

Do a diagnostic check on the RAM and the HDD. Two most common causes of a crash.
