Hi all

i need a the cheapest mobo i can get for testing puposes only.

it will need to support a Q9450, DDR2 PC-6400 RAM.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know a thing about this board, but their web site indicates it will support your needs (I didn't check to see if you needed a bios update for the 45nm quads though)

sorry after trying to place my order realised that newegg only ship to US and i live in the UK

That's good for you. If you had ordered it, you'd have wasted $60. That motherboard chipset does not support 45nm quad.

 

The cheapest boards that support 45nm quad would be one of the p35 boards. However, they do not support it natively, so if you're unlucky, you may get one with older bios that won't boot, and have to get another cpu just to boot it up and flush the bios to a newer version. The cheapest chipset boards that support 45nm quad natively are p43/45. They start at $75 in US. Not sure about UK prices.

Not sure, but if it does, you may still need a bios update. G33 chipset far predates 45nm quads.

thanks, i'll be getting this from my local pc shop as they are the same price as online with shipping and they just replied to my email and say it will work straight out of the box.
