Windows xp installation problem

Hello,
Im trying to reformat my notebook acer aspire 5570z now with a win vista home premium with a windowss xp pro. but when i insert the cd and restart, it doesnt show anything at all, why? i really need now thanks.

Are you sure you're booting from the CD?

Is the disk defective? Try another one and see if that helps.
