More Information

For some reason I have a ge6600 video card and 1 stick of ram die at the same time (card was an old one while my current card was being RMA'd)

I requested a RMA number and Crucial says they no longer have the low density Ballistix (16 chips on the ram), would I like to send in the kit and get matching pair of Ballistix high density (9 chips on the ram)....

My question is will I have any problem with compatibility or with stability if I mix 2 low density sticks with 2 high density sticks.

Crucial is giving me several options.

1. send in 1 or both stick for newer high density sticks.
2. Send in all 4 sticks and they will give me 4 matching sticks.... Except that I am without ram for a week..

any thoughts?

Thanks

I'd go for all 4 sticks being replaced. I wouldn't be surprised if the other sticks were also damaged by whatever killed your video card and 1st stick -- perhaps it's time for a new PS as well?
