I am having trouble with my old Pentium 4 Gaming machine and thought it was time to build one for a change, instead of buying a Dell.

I've been reading the forum and here is the list of components for my machine.

Few things-

Do you really need 1.5GB of storage? If you really do then go for it, make sure you buy drives with 32MB cache.

Nice choice on the CPU- a good overclocker and 45nm will keep it cool.

Video card is a beast, will take care of you just fine.

I have the 2GB version of that kit, overclocks well- good choice.

I would get Vista Home Premium it has everything the average user needs. However, unless Aero really tickles you XP Pro is still a better choice IMO.

That computer will fly. Nothing is wrong with it. Though i would suggest a Q9450 IF you do quite a bit of heavy muti-tasking, if not then your rig is ready to go.

P.S. - the zalman cpu cooler is nice but for around the same price why not get a True ultra 120 extreme plus a S Flex or Ultra Kaze 3K? Those will really cool your cpu. (though ultra Kaze 3k might be a bit too noisy for you, its like 46 dba) But again, all depends on your preference and zalman will do just fine.

i worked with all HD companies, Seagate, Sam, WD, toshiba etc.
the only once that didn't do any problem are WD's.
the 32mb of seagate is not worth mentioning.
if you want the fastest 1T HD it's the Sam F1, it's the Closest to the new Velosraptor.

but i would get the HD in the Opposite combination- 500G RAID & the 1T GP.

games & OS on the RAID, other stuff on the slow GP on.

or just loss the 500G & get 1T GP instead.
