Hi,
I often use my iPAQ to quickly record a voice memo for later action
(such as a reminder to self, phone number etc.) when my hands aren't
free to enter data properly. The side memo button enables me to do
this one-handed and without using the stylus, plus it turns on the
machine at the same time. After creating a memo in this fashion, the
Notes application is brought to the foreground, and the resulting
recording given a default name such as 'Recording1'.
The problem with this is that the recording appears further down in
the list of notes and can be forgotten when the organiser is next
used. I therefore propose a simple application to do the following:
Continuously monitor for the existence of voice memos with the default
filenames (eg: 'Recordingx') and display a message in the start bar
'tooltip' format (where other Windows notifications usually appear)
reminding that there are memos awaiting further action.
Obviously there is potential to do a lot more with this, including
creating a program to playback the memos with a 'new entry' input on
the same screen to create tasks quickly.
Would anyone be interested in developing this program with me? I have
very little programming knowledge and would be looking for a co-author
to do the majority of the coding.
If you are interested, please let me know via e-mail.
