Hi, my chipset fan has jammed and should this be a cause for my computer refusing to turn on?
It doesn't do much other than start all the fans, no picture to the screen whatsoever...

MSI K8N Diamond w 2048 memory, 4000+ amd athlon x64, ati x800xl 512 mb...

thanks

i had from what it sounds like a simmilar problem. i had an 754 sock with an 6800gs agp and 1 gig of ram. one day i turned it on it the led s and fans would spin but it didn't turn on.

what i concluded on was this: the psu had give me bad voltage and my bios ha d died out. with the chipset fan i would say yes and what likly could have happened is it over heated and now you don't have a bios or your chipset is dead.

you may be able to find a replacement. but i fond that a new board was just as cheap.

hope this helps. i may be wrong but that is what it sounds like to me
