Hi,

I bought a new 8800 GT VGA card and my current power supply is 422 W. Is it enough for this card? If not what is the recommended power supply for it?

Thanks.

425W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 28A or more.
Check the label of the power supply for 12v amps.

Yeah we need more specs of the PSU. Brand, model, 12V rating?

Yeah you are going to want to replace that PSU. You need 22A on the +12V rails and 400W+. Some manufacturers say diffrently. Some power supplies have mulitple rails so they are labeled +12V1, +12V2, etc. You just add them up. The 8800GT is a high performance card, you don't want to run it with a cheapo power supply. You risky frying the PSU and taking your video card along with it, or worse other components. And believe me that will frustrate anyone more than needing to purchase a new power supply. You can get a PSU that meets your needs for like $60 or so.

You are going to want something along these lines or more. What does the rest of your system look like?
