Been thinking of upgrading the 8800, I have a 24 inch LCD and have been thinking about buying a new card. Is there going to be a decent FPS upgrade for me, I am running a Core 2 Duo 6600 ( not OCed) 2 gigs of 8400 ram timed at 4-4-4-4-12, a Gigabyte 750i MB. Before I spend the money, i want to make sure it will bang for the buck over my 8800 GTS 320

well I wouldn't really upgrade yet

I have a 8800 GTS 640 and a 24 inch monitor and it plays every single game I have at max everything (including AA, and filtering), except crysis...

if you really feel the need to upgrade (i'll probably get a GTX 280 or something when the price comes down a little bit), then i'd wait for the new generations of cards from both Nvidia, and ATI

Check which one has better performance (probably nvidia) and then choose your price range, but since your considering the 9800 gx2, which is about 500, you could wait about a month or two, and pick up the GTX 280 which should be about 20 % faster than it...

so, IDK if i've been to helpful but that is what i'd do

I agree with thogrom. I also have an 8800 GTS 640 and I continually have to add "except Crysis" to my posts. I know the 320 isn't as powerful as the 640, but if I had one I think I'd have a hard time justifying an upgrade at this point. With the new cards almost here, I'd really just put up with your current performance for another month or two rather than regret a purchase later.
