More Information

I currently have XP Pro as an OS, XFX 780i Mobo, Intel 1333 MHZ e6850 Processer (3.0 Ghz), an BFG 8800 GT OC2E, and 2 GB of Crucial 667MHz Ram. I play games pretty heavily and I was wondering what parts I could/should upgrade to get more performance out of my machine without overclock. I tend to have a bit of problems with loading new data, so I was wondering if investing in 4GB of 1066 MHz Ram would give me more performance in gaming. I'm willing to spend up to about $500 to increase performance, so any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance and take care~

Seems to be like the best upgrade would be a video card(8800gts 512mb G92) or get a 2nd 8800GT to do SLI and 2x2gb ram(to replace your current 2x1gb). Because you don't want to overclock, you wouldn't find any benefit with the 1066mhz ram 800mhz ram would be fine. What type of a hard drive do you have?

Overclocking nowadays really is free speed, but anyway.

I would look at the 9800GX2 for a video card. That will give you a little bump in performance as its 2 video cards on one PCB.

Upgrading the RAM won't really help you really so that is not a big reason upgrade that.

If you are really interested in loading times, a RAID 0 array will decrease map loading times.
