I need to transfer files off of my desktop's hard drive, to my laptop. My desktop monitor is no longer working and I haven't the funds to fix the cause. There are very important files I would like to retrieve from the hard drive, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Any tips, please? :)

get an external enclosure that has the same interface as the hdd in the desktop

take out the hdd

put it in the enclosure

plug it into your laptop

transfer files
