I'm in need of a quality soundcard, i plan on doing some recording so i need a few inputs. Id also like quality sound out of it for listening to music... which i assume would go hand in hand.
Probably some gaming but i dont need more than stereo. Music first, gaming second.
i got a nice pair of klipsch stereo (w/ sub) speakers which i am not planning on replacing.

I'm also upgrading to vista 64-bit soon

i was looking at the
M-AUDIO Audiophile 2496 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface

any other suggestions?

well why do you want to upgrade to vista 64bit? i have the sound blaster x-fi extreme gamer and it sounds AWESOME. i really love it. the software it came with is really kinda nice. i didn't install all of it( like creative labs media player...) but its got really nice sound. but i hear the drivers for vista 64bit create poping and crackling noises. ( i use vista 32bit)

Yes, actually, I did have nails for lunch.

Whenever I want consumer reviews of small-ticket items like sound cards I check out zzounds.com and amazon.com.
