Windows hardware configuration

After replacing my crashed hard drive I ran the recovery disc. The software installed and during windows setup I got a error message windows setup could not configure this computers hardware. What can I do to fix this?

The computer is an HP running vista home premium. The recovery discs are HP factory discs.
