Is Intel going to release an SLC based generation 2 SSD? On newegg the only G2 drives I see are MLC.

There's been no announcement on a new generation SLC drive. I'm taking this as a sign that their X25E drive sales volumes have been so low that they don't think it's worth their while.

Man that makes me sad :(

OCZ is impressing me lately with their SSD developments.

With the current $/GB, most consumers aren't willing to pay the double premium for SLC, when the gains from it do not benefit the average PC user/gamer/etc. I would expect to see more SLC when the $/GB drops more.
