Gigabyte EP35-DS3R wake on lan (WOL) with integrated NIC Tags: Gigabyte NIC Motherboards Last response: October 22, 2008 7:02 PM in Motherboards Share MilanKni July 12, 2008 4:51:01 PM Hi all, does anyone have this card and could confirm that WOL with the integrated NIC is not available? I have RTFM, it mentions Wake on Ring (modem), Wake by keyboard, mouse, PCI activity (called PME), alarm (on time), and I cann't believe that such a basic feature as WOL is not supported. The last option would be to buy an ethernet card for PCI slot, I guess. Anyone succeeded with the integrated or external NIC? MilanKni October 22, 2008 6:49:59 PM Yes, I found it - I have put another NIC into PCI :-( It does not have to have a separate cable to attach to the motherboard (there is no plug anyway) since it communicates directly through PCI. $ lspci ... 05:02.0 Ethernet controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6105/VT6106S [Rhine-III] (rev 8b) ... The internal NIC gets powered off once the computer is halted. It is interesting how such an old functionality remains often unsupported by manufacturers.
