8800GTS underclock

my setup:
abit ip35 pro
e2160 @ 2.7Ghz
2g kingston hyperx ddr2 800 cas4
msi nx8800GTS 512
samsung lcd 1680x1050

i'm using rivatuner for setting fan speeds increase according to core temps.
my setup is as follows:
- when winxp loads my low profile is to set the gpu core to ~333Mhz, mem to ~800mhz. (for normal desktop usage)
- i change the profile to normal to play games, profile sets the gpu at 678Mhz, mem at 1944MHz.

Some times i forget to change my profile and start gaming, ie: cod4 & assassin's creed, and i can't tell any real big difference between my low profile and normal profile when gaming.
I don't know if rivatuner is lying or this card just have plenty of juice.
gpu max temp at full load = 55C

I tried this and never really had any luck. the low profile wouldn't always stick to switch properly. I gave up and left my OC on all the time. I never really noticed a temp difference on low profile anyways.

I'd say that this one has plenty of juice. I've got the G92 8800GTS and it setup just like yours, and when I forget to go back to normal most games run perfectly, but a few like crysis can't keep up so well.

I know you've got your E2160 moderately overclocked but I wouldn't be surprised if your CPU would max-out before this GPU gets significantly overloaded.
