I am trying to install a 8600 GT 1gig XFX PCIe card into my DELL XPS 600 comp.
Problem is when i plug it in and turn comp on I get no feed to my monitors(im trying vga, and DVI connections on card).
I have done normal installation from ground up before so am not totally new to this.
My prior card a 7900 GS 256 was over heating and starting to go out so i decided to by a new card. This new one is windows XP compatible and does not require a power source other that going straight through the PCIe slots. I have called tech support for XFX and they said I should upgrade my bios, but alas I have it to the current DELL bios already(im not sure what kind of a board is in it so i cant go to the manufacturer and see if they have a new bios, but from what i was told from DELL is I can only use there bios setups and they think its the card).
Also forgot I have been installing the card into slot 1 of the SLI slots, and going back to the old card works but new one doesnt.
Maybe its a bad card and should return but I wanted to ask here first.
I have a,
3200 Pent D, 800 fsb
2gig 667 ram
SLI compatible mobo with the Nvidia Nforce chipset
Windows XP home edition
Any help is appreciated.
