Do AMD CPUS Come with thermal cooling already installed on them or do i have to manually place it on? IF SO how much do i have to use?

More about : cpus thermal coolign

the IHS is the thermal cooling of ANY CPU.becasue its helping to extract heay away from the core and radiate it out into the air if no HSF was install. So technically its a preapplied thermal cooling.

the heatsinks already come with "thermal interface material" on them, you just pull off the plastic right b4 you put the heatsink on the cpu. ;)

There will be a thin layer of "grey stuff" on the bottom of the heatsink. Just attach it to the top of your CPU and you are good to go. Now you WILL need some of your own should you want to take the HS off and put it back on for some reason.

Actually. "thermal interface material" or "TIM" is the technical term.

Well to someone who doesn't know alot about computers, "Thermal Interface Material" will cause confusion in their "grey stuff", so better to use simpler terms that people actually understand.

TIM will certainly confuse noobs royalcrown.i didnt wanna say that to you but since randomizer "kindly" pointed that out i will just say it.

thermal?=far more?
interface?=in the face?
thermal interface material? means something to do with the face?
TIM?Tequila In Mango juice? The Italy Mountain?

avoid using those terms next time when talking to new people.LOL

Ok, The CPU I ordered,(4600+ AMD Athlon X2) Doesnt include a heatsink or fan, so does this mean it already have some of the "grey material on it".

PS.I had a lot of trouble reading this thread.

why dont you buy the retail version of the chip they come with a heatsink.

Then you wont have to apply any thermal paste. It comes pre-applied to the heatsink, just remove the plastic cover from the paste before you lock it down onto the CPU.

get a heatsink so they have those grey thingy on the heatsink or will give you to apply it.

Just quoting this for emphasis, or you will find your CPU running hotter than it should be. There will be a think plastic film to keep dust off the paste. Don't leave it on there! ;)
