I'd like to hear a BestBuy salesman pitch this card (if they were to carry MSI) "Oh no, avoid the old 8800GTX. For a few dollars less, you can have this newer card with more than twice the memory. Look two GB!!!!!!!!!! And it's only $50 more than the 8800GTS with only 512MB of memory. And 9600 > 8800 anyway. "
Had it been a GTS G92, then maybe more interesting. I'll be curious to see how it's priced, although without doubt IMO there will be better gaming cards for the price. If it's priced the same as any other 9600GT, sure I'd snatch one up. Not going to happen though, and pricing will determine if it's really good for anyone. They will sell though. And Cool feature though non the less.

And a 8800 512 meg card will run circles around it all day long.
Looks like a cheap way to crank the price up on a 9600 to around $299 (or more).
People grab those 1gb $299 8800GT's off the shelf screaming "Wow! 1 gig of memory, the more memory the better right? this is the one we want!"
Been there and watched it happen over and over and over and over and over. And if they don't bite on their own, there is all knowing sales person who takes every customer with ANY question directly to the 8800gt 1 gig card and proclaims "these just in, fastest thing on the planet, just look at all the memory on-board!".
It's just insane what people will spend out of ignorance.
Yeah i remember the old days.
In computer shops here in IRAn when the 6800ULTRA was the best card and then we had 6200 512, many shoppers said:"this is a beast and will play games on highest quality and its a 512MB card."

yeah, I wanted one of those turbo buttons ever since being a kid watching Knight Rider. Nifty feature though I can see Dr. MOS and the turbo button being attractive.
and the funny part is :• NVIDIA SLI-ready
lol who would SLI the 8500 ?!
I know someone who did last October, just before the 8800GT got released. It was a build for Crysis on 1280x1024. Needless to say it took me a while to stop laughing since my 3 year old 6600GT owns the 8500GT.
As for the 2GB 9600GT ... I hope they disable half the framebuffer in WindowsXP. Imagine buying 4GB RAM and this and only seeing 1.5GB RAM when you get home. I would make me cry.
