Thank you for the suggestions. i noticed that the spec of 6400+ and 6000+ are almost the same except 6400+ has 0.2G mhz clock speed more. Does the 0.2G difference really worth the money?
By the way, according to AMD's website they have a new 6000+ at 65nm 89W and stock core speed at 3.1 G mhz. Would it be a better choice?
Definitely go with less than 125w (95w or less)
The 65w Brisbanes (X2 5000s and up) will pretty much hit 3GHz+ at stock volts with a little tweakin'. Gigabyte mobo BIOSs feature super-secret undercover tweaking advanced options that will be enabled if you press "Ctrl+F1" at the BIOS main page.
(People have been killed for that information  )
If you don't want to work in the BIOS, the Gigabyte EasyTune OC tool will normally get you a painless 10-15% OC.
The X2 5400+ Brisbane 2.8GHz 65w is $87 and a rather simple OC to 3-3.1GHz at stock volts. Stock speed will work well if you don't care to OC. The extra cash can go toward that HD4850 or another 2gb of ram.
If you plan to game at 16x12 (and sometimes a little lower) another 200MHz will not make any difference.
