SLI or Crossfire?

I want to get a custom PC built. But don't know what setup I should go for, SLI or crossfire?
Is one better then the other, or are they both similar in terms of performance? Any help appreciated.

Neither. Get the best single card you can afford.

Unless building a high-end PC, I would ditch dual-gpu as well.

Thanks for the reply's. I'll go for a single high end graphics card instead, probably get the 9800GTX.

The 9800GTX is an overpriced OCed 8800GTS, get the later, it's 100$ less. High-end is more like a GX2 I think.

What games and resolutions are you aiming for?
