Icons on my desktop don't open when I click

Hello,
I can't open the icons on my desktop even when I right click. How can I fix this? I'm running a scan with my AVG to see if it is a virus. Any ideas?

You need the LNK Fix from Doug Knox's website - http://www.dougknox.com. Have a look under XP Tips then XP Fixes for .LNK. You'll download a Registry fix which is quite safe to use and which will, if it's the right cure for the disease - sort things out immediately after a restart when the Registry has been amended.
