Hello,
I have written this topic for know your opinion about my new computer that i will buy.
This is the configuration:

mother board:asus rampage formula X48
CPU: intel Q9450 boxed
ram: corsair dominator kit 2X2GB PC2 8500 (1066 Mhz)
vga: nvidia 9800gtx
hard disk: western digital raptor AD 150GB
case: cooler master cm690
psu: corsair TX 750W
cpu dissipator: zalman led 9700

I use the computer for play (crysis, call of duty, flight simulator X...), surf the net and for graphic programs like photoshop.
I'm not very sure for the vga, because this month or next month the new ati hd 4870 will be avaiable, but Will it become better than nvidia 9800gtx? If I take one hd4870 I can do a cross fire...
Generally what do you think about my configuration?
Are there some components that it's better change?
My budget is about 1400 E, but I think that in the USA for the change E/$, price are not the same...
Thank you for the answers.
p.s
Excuse me for mistakes, I'm learning english...

Your english will be much better than my Italian.

MB, CPU choice and RAM choices are excellent. X48 Rampage Formula review

Video card; as you say 4870 and 4870X2 will soon be out. And very probably so will the replacement for 9800GTX (and 9800GX2). The 9800GTX isn't very popular since most feel its just a slightly overclocked 8800GTS.

WD Raptor is still about the best hard disk for top performance but the newer large hard disks come close in performance at better prices.
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD7500AAKS 750GB

Case and PSU; CM RC-690 and Corsair 750TX are very good choices.
Heat Sink Fan; Zalman 9700. Still one of the Ten Best CPU coolers

wait around and see if the next generation ati cards will be good or not. 4870 comes out in a month and a half and benchmarks probably sooner than that.

150gb raptor hard drive is very fast but its really not a lot of space. try getting like a 750gb or 1tb hard drive for data.

rest looks good.

Everything has been said.
I would change the Zalman to the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 (~33 EUR here).
It costs less and performs better (see review in link above).

Try googling for a WD6400AAKS review. I have two Raptors and two WD6400AAKS. The 640GB drive is a bit slower but way less noisy (~100 EUR here). I also have a WD7500AAKS and it's not quite as fast as the WD6400AAKS but the difference is minimal.

Thank you for answers,
I don't need a lot of space on hard disk, I've an hard disk of 500GB where i put files, images, musics...
I think I will take an ati hd 4870 512MB, but I dont' know if 750W are sufficient for a cross fire ( in the future maybe I will do a cross fire).
I will do also an overclock at the cpu, maybe 3,2GHz.
Do grapics cards enter in the cooler master cm690, or I need a better case like coolermaster cosmos 1000 (that cost a lot...)?

On tom's hardware Italia (the italian version) I se an article: 2 hd 7.200 in raid 0 vs WD raptor 150GB, the article show that WD raptor isn't faster than a raid 0, what do you think?
Excuse me, I know that I make a lot of mistakes, I hope you can understand.

Corsair 750W PSU will handle 2x HD 4870 in Cross Fire mode easily.

CM 690 case can handle any of the largest video cards without a problem.

Stay with the single Raptor 150GB for your boot disk.
