Easy wayto get past bios system

Hello,I have had a major problem with my NEC Desktop(V6012)I have made a recovery disc but cannot get passed BOOTMGR is missing.I am not a computer whiz so any reply of information,please keep it simple.Regards Jim Rumsey.I run Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit.
