Fan Issues on Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7825

This computer is about five years old. I never had one like it before, and thus never really noticed that it may have some fan problems. It always seems to be running much higher than it needs to be. Just steaming video will rev up the fan, and a simple task like writing this post will keep it running at a high speed. The only way to make it slow down is to have no programs open at all.
