Hi guys,
I'm about to buy a new pc and, as it's my first computer to assemble, could you please tell me if I'm doing it wrong, there are some mistakes, bottlenecks, incompatibility, and so on.

- XFX GeForce 8800GT 670M 512MB XXX GDDR3, PCI-Express 2.0
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHz 1333Mhz Socket LGA775, 4MB

And I'm fairly confident with those 2.

But would they be working ok with this motherboard:
- MSI P35 NEO-F, P35, Socket-775, DDR2, 1333FSB, ATX, GbLAN, PCI-Ex16

And, for the memories, I don't have a clue to be honest. How about:
- A-DATA DDR2 PC6400 4096MB CL5, EPP Kit w/two matched DDR2 800G 2048MB CL5

Then, just 1 hard drive. I'll be buying a power unit of 500 W

Every comment will be really appreciated :)
Thanks in advance.

Your choice of Graphics Card and Processor is good, you shouldn't have any bottlenecking there. But i'd recommend the E8400 Wolfdale. It's about $10 more. It's th same clockspeed of the E6850 but due to it's new 45nm architecture it's performance is better per clock.

If you do go for the new processor, make sure your motherboard will support it either out of the box or with a BIOS update.

The RAM you chose will do, but since i do not recognize the brand i can't say for certain if the quality is any good. A good alternative if you too are unsure is OCZ, Mushkin, Corsair, etc. I use OCZ Platinum 2x2gb sticks.

What brand of 500PSU are you looking at? Reason being is if it's not a quality brand name PSU chances are it sucks. My recommendation are Corsair, Silverstone, Thermaltake, etc.

Hope that clears a few things up, or at the very got you on th right track.

^ Agree with Lucius.
While the 6850 is a fine processor, I'd go for the 8400 as well. It also will run cooler.
Haven't heard too many negative things about A-data RAM. If you check your motherboards website, it will list approved memory that should work without trouble. Worth a quick read.
Good advice on the Power Supply, don't skimp here. Check this link for a decent rundown of most all available power supplies and how they stack up for reliability and ratings.

Thanks to both of you !

The PSU I'm goint to buy is the OCZ PowerStream (500W), so it's supposed to be quite good.

Going to the 8400 would cost me 40 € (about 60 $) more, I'm not too fussed over its power...

If the motherboard is ok I think I will be fine..
For the A-Data I've heard good opinions, but looks like they are not so common. They are also "approved" by MSI.
It would be great if someone here had an experience with either MSI P35 of the A-Data RAM... :P
