What should I buy....

Hey, I'm in a bit of a pickle...

I have an 8800gts 640mb and ever since the 512mb came out, I've been a bit peeved...

I was wondering whether I should buy an 8800gts 512mb and sell my 640mb, get an 8800gtx (oem they're about 160) or get another 8800gts 640mb and sli it

I can't find any comparisons between my various configurations

Get either the GTX or GTS 512, which ever you can find cheaper, they will perform better than 2x GTS 640s.

Tom's was promoting the idea of upgrading cards when the difference was 3 or more steps in performance. One or two steps is just not enough improvement.

Agreed^^ keep your current card, 8800GTS 640 is still a solid card, do u have any problems in gaming?

Well, I did have some low fps issues at one stage in COD4, and in Crysis, but then again Crysis is just an fps sap

I'll stick with my current card and not be greedy then ^^

Thats maybe because of the drivers, updated to the latest drivers and also install some patches too

Just wait for the G260 or the 4870, both in your eventual price range
