Ok. I have an HP pavilion a1440n that came with a 250GB SATA hard drive. Windows will no longer boot for some reason. I get a Blue Screen with a STOP error because of something like UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME.
So, I was just gonna try to do a clean install of xp on the drive again. But, neither Windows Setup, nor the Recovery Console are able to find the drive. The hard disk is found in BIOS, though. So I put in a regular IDE HD, and installed windows on it, and I still have the SATA connected too. When I go to Device Manager, under 'OTHER DEVICES', it shows RAID Controller and Unknown Device. And the SATA HD also does not show in My Computer.
What I want to know is how do i get windows to find the drive so i can do a clean install of windows xp on the drive...
