My cd/dvd will not play

I have tried EVERYTHING, everything seems to be order. Even the tech support doesn't know what's wrong, I don't think anything is broken, but is there something you can buy or do I have to call a repair man, I'd rather not. I did have a virus but it is cleared out. HELP

Have you tried several different CDs and DVDs?

Does the drive show up in My Computer?
