I upgraded my pc last month.
That is when everything went wrong...
My new setup:
Ga-ma790gp-u4dh
AMD Phemom ll x2 550be
4gb/2x2gb OCZ Platinum pc8500/1066
OCZ StealthXtreme 550w PSU
1 WD 640gb sata2
I had 2 other HDD.
1 WD 300GB IDE
1 Maxtor 400gb Sata2
First i had to RMA my mobo, IGP defect and a lot other probs also.
Reveived the new 1.
Reinstall everthing, 1 of the 2 RAM module could'nt pass Memtest86 without rebooting or had tones of errors.
Whent to local store so i can have a second opinion. (3weeks as passed since my purchase)
Couple of days later the say to me that my memory, mobo, cpu are 100% functionnal?!?!?!
Reinstall everything and my pc is running awesome. Weird!
3 days after everything was finally going great, my 2 older HDD fails and are now dead!
Damn!
I've been building PC since '94 and never seen that.
So now i am here 4 weeks and a half later, pc is running great "couple of artifacs but i can use my pc at least, going for new Video card this week"
Still lost 700gb of data. Running on my new HDD.
Is the new PSU can have played a role in all my problems?
Yesterday, i took my old PSU and put it in my pc like second PSU.
Only fans and HDD is on the old one and the rest of pc on my new OCZ PSU.
So i am sure tha i wont lose anything less...
Is it possible that 2 HDD fails at the same time or i am a very lucky dude?
P.S: I unlocked my CPU, no OC.
Since "All of the Phenom II's are identical designs, the best ones end up as 955s and the defective ones end up as 8xx X4s, 7xx X3s, and 5xx X2s. So you only have disabled cores if you bought a phenom"
Is there a possibility that can cause some problems?
Are your hdd's dead as in not working ,or could it be a bad install/virus,,I just had a similar event wherein a rouge ??, file erased several partitions on a new 500g hdd,so i ghosted and lo and behold there they were ???

I've never seen or heard proven a PSU taking out components if the computer is bootable and operating fine. If the PSU is delivering out of spec. voltage and/or ripple then the computer simply won't boot/operate at all.
Did the two HDDs fail both at once?
How were you able to confirm the HDDs failed?

Yup!
PSU is working perfectly.
HDD are dead and they died at the same time.
IDE failed and after rebooting the sata one followed.
I have a brand new OCZ 500w and it suppose to be more than enough for the current settings i have.
Like i said right now i have 2 PSU on 1 pc just to be sure.
Any more suggestions?
1. Go to 'Disk Manager' and check maybe that hdds are offline.
2. Replace power cables to be sure.
3. Go to BIOS and check Sata mod. If it is AHCI or Raid You have serious problem
to get your data from that hdds. You have two solutions: or with new OS but with Sata mod-Sata Ide, or you put that hdds to USB HDD rack.
4. When I have hard disk overheated or with many bad sectors or lose all partitions,
I quck format it and recover all files with prg named "GetBackData".
