I have a Tyris 19" lcd monitor that went out, but not really. I no longer stays on anymore...but when you turn it on and off the image appears perfectly for about 1 second. Does anyone have any idea whats going on?

This problem is not related to the video card or settings on the computer because i have another tyris monitor on right beside it.

If that's the case it sounds like the backlight may have died. You can generally order a replacement backlight online for about $40 US. Of course then you have to pull the old one and install the new one yourself but it's cheaper than buying a new LCD or taking it in for repair.

if the backlight is dead the image will still appear for ~1 sec everytime it's turned on?
