I am currently building a new system and would like some additional input.

I am looking for a video card to compliment these components:

E8400 C2D
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P
4Gb OCZ Reaper PC2 8500

I would like to mention that the majority of my use for this machine is programming. I don't plan on watching HD movies, nor do I consider myself an avid gamer. The extent of my gaming is Crysis, (which in itself is pretty demanding) F.E.A.R. etc. I will aslo be running this system dual boot Arch Linux and Win. XP .

Having said that I am considering something ATI HD3870 based perhaps
SAPPHIRE Toxic 100225TXSR Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16.

This should cover my video needs and then some.

I welcome any suggestions.

thats a good card should perform all ur tasks.
