I have a dell XPS 400

And I'm planning on getting

Dell claims the XPS 400 has a 375w PSU, and is the only PSU out there for this system

Why don't you open the case and check the specifications? Report back with the +12v rail rating. You should be safe with at least 28A. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for that Dell :|

Your psu has a 30 amp combined +12v output and probably doesn't need to be upgraded, but, if you wish you can use almost any standard ATX 2.0 or higher psu.

Call (on the phone) PC Power & Cooling and talk with a Tech and get a real PSU for your system.

I know people with both 3870's and 8800GTS 512's....they all say the 8800GTS 512 is better and uses less power/runs cooler.

With mine my eyes can't tell it from a 8800GTX and all 8800GTS 512 will OC to basicly the same rate of each other if your into that,so brand does not matter nor does a factory OC that you pay more for.
