Well do you need the on board graphics? If not, p35 all the way.

P35 is the better chipset, unless you need integrated graphics in which case you need G35. Also I wouldn't recommend the Intel boards any way. Try and get a Gigabyte (ie. EP35-DS3L, ~$85) or a P35-ASUS boards.

This two mobo had diffenrent prupose. The G35 had video onboard and P35 not. Since you are looking for a video card for light gaming, consider only the P35, it's a good overclocker.

First off, Intel chipsets that start with a G have integrated graphics, so if you plan on using a graphics card (you should) you have no need for integrated graphics, thus no need for an Intel chipset starting with a G.

The P35 and G35 chipsets have been replaced by the P45 and G45 respectively. Most of the changes are not worth mentioning, but they do have PCIe 2.0 which will be nice to have in the long run.

There is also a P43 with only one 16x PCIe slot; if you don't plan on ever using Crossfire then that's what I would recommend.

And as Shadow said, Intel branded motherboards suck for overclocking. Go with Gigabyte, ASUS, DFI, etc.
