Here are my first results, the day I purchased the 9800 GX2 and when my Q6600 was at 3.0:

Here are the current results, with the 9800 GX2 (763, 1149) and the Q6600 at 3.6:

Nah, not that big of a surpirse. For some reason Quad core CPUS dominate 3DMark 06....when we know that they aren't even that useful for gaming. At least compared to a dual core. It's too bad that a benchmark used to determine gaming power gets such a boost from quad cpus.

Dude it's not his fault game developer's dont code all games to use four cores..3dmark just measures how much work the processor can do four can do more than two end of story..

I think the base score was pretty good but i got close to that i hit 12.5k with my setup Oc'ed cpu to 3.4 and gpu at 720/1000.

But you oc score jumped 3k? I wonder if that was processor or gpu?

I'd say processor, when I oced the GPU only, it was around 600+ points:S

EDIT:

Age of Conan, is apparently a Multi Core game that uses quad. I'm curious how well it works:)

Ive been hearing that current cpus slightly bottleneck the sli/x2s a bit. Its most likely both, gpu is better from the oc of the cpu. Look at the gains from the sm2 and sm3 scores

I noticed from the screen shot you are in Canada. It's easier to overclock in your colder weather, especially since you all live in Igloos.

Maybe the 45nm Phenom's will pester Intel enough for them to release something significantly faster than what they have out now? :(

Yes I live in a 20 floor igloo right next to the biggest Igloo in the world the CN Tower.

Anyways, isn't the future the new laser CPUs? that are developed by sun Micro or w.e, that are apprently 1000xs faster than the top end CPUs to date???

:S

EDIT: I thought the fact that it says Toronto, Canada under my name give it away:)

Wait til the new cards come out. Im thinking the cpus will be somewhat left behind for ultimate performance. Whats that really mean? Maybe at 12x10 you wont see say Crysis at its best unless you really crank that cpu. The G280 is rumored to be anywheres from20 to 40% faster than the GTXx2

Personally I hope it will be, but I doubt it will be better, I think it would come close for a single card though:) but we'll have too see

I don't like getting ahead of myself:) if it turns out to be true I'll just return this. If it turns out not to worth it, meh another wasted breathe lol

I think youll like both. Your card is currently tops, without a doubt. Hopefully, itll only get better whenever nVidia realizes that dual gpus are going to be the future, and they start spending more time for drivers in that direction.

What about knowing that N'Vidia is probably going to be only releasing one or two more driver updates for that card
