Well apparently, a not-so-useful program by the name of "Powerstrip" reports my laptop CPU temperature (I use this thing every day, it's always on) is 90C. This immediately made me shut it off and open the back to see if there was some kind of weird thing, like worms in the computer (lol, I can't believe that actually happened to someone) and stuff like that, and found nothing.
Laptop is an Acer Extensa 5620Z, it's a piece of crap, but I got it for free so I'm barely complaining. (Was unaware of time of buying that Intel graphics are no good for what I use it for)
Any idea either:
1. Why the temps are so high? (laptop is used on a table, in efforts to drop the heat, didn't work)
or
2. Which program I can use to accurately get a temperature reading?
Thanks~ Todd5854

Update: Took apart laptop, removed heat sink and fan, removed 3CM thick dust layer, cleaned fan, cleaned off thermal paste, applied arctic silver, put back on, now it's running at around 46C, on my lap, with the internet running. Thanks!
