Hello mates,

Recently i tryed to find some hardware that chould support 3 monitors to 1 computer, currently i have a 8800GTX handeling 2 monitors, but i need a 3'rd moniter in a 3'rd resolution - this means i cant use a matrox splitter? :<

i will have 3 monitors in 3 difrents sices, 1600*1200 & 1680x1050 & 1920x1080. (The 1600*1200 monitor is my main monitor)

How can i get 3 monitors set to 1 computer at once?

Hope you can help me
Bye
:hello:

Yeah you will want a 2nd Graphics card. You have an 8800GTX right now so I am assuming you are gaming on it. Are you looking for Gaming on all 3 monitors? I assume not since they are all different resolutions. So if you just want more desktop space you can simply install a 2nd Video card. You don't need a GTX for just desktop items a 8400GT or something will do just fine. Do you have a 2nd PCI-E slot? or what other slots do you have avalible? Any PCI-E x4 x2 x1 slots?

o nice, well atm i think i have a 2xPCI slot and SLI slot free, becurse my GTX are one of the good ginats one, taking out my 2nd PCI-E. (running on a P5N32-E SLI motherboard)

I dident know that i chould use a 2nd grapichcard this way, the large screen 1920x1080 is my TV, so mainly this monitor only should handle some divx videos. Can i get a cheap PCI slot grapichcard that can take a resolution that large?

So you have this mobo? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131073

It has 3 PCI-E slots. 2 which are full x16 for SLI. But you can install a 2nd PCI-E card in the bottom slot but just don't turn on SLI in the Video Drivers. That way you won't SLI and it will run both independantly. I'd make sure it is a 512MB card though. If you want it to run 1920x1080 maybe a 8600GT would work better.

I'd stick with all Nvidia cards though don't mix ATI and Nvidia its a safer bet they won't conflict.

P.S. Are you creating a Command Center?

I am using two samsung 24" 245BW's and cannot be happier. a third one would be the bees knees but...overkill? anyway get 2x24" for a resolution of 3840X1200 and make 1080P look like a VHS!

I know this is not exactly what you asked for because your question is already answered...but again use an NVIDIA card and run the third display as extra desktop space that is independent of the first two in the Nvidia console.

If you have XP, you can safely mix and match AMD and Nvidia cards together. As I just found out, Vista only allows the loading of one driver, so you must use whatever cards the one driver will allow.

I would get whatever cheap Nvidia card you can. Throw it into the second slot, and plug the monitors into that. No worries about OS. (dumb MS...)

why... why would you ever need 3840 by 1200? its not practical in the least
