Hello,
Here is the error msg:
"The setup configuration file 'C:\Program Files (x86) Microsoft Office\Office\Off97Std.stf.' is missing or corrupted. Try running Setup again from where you origianally ran it."
What the heck does this mean in Non-tech language and how do I fix it so that I may uninstall Office 97 because I installed Office 2010 about 6 months ago.
I have a Sony VAIO laptop Windows Vista SP2
I am very non-tech so please advise for a novice.

Office 97 is not compatible with or supported in Vista. Any problems you have with it will not be fixed.

he wants to uninstall it, not use it

In a situation like this its best to use 'Windows Installer Cleanup Utility' because you cannot progress or digress from this error using the installation package.

You should re-visit the link.
Project has been abandoned. You can now use Microsoft FixIt for this problem.

The project may have been abandoned and the software may be obsolete, but the software still works as intended. It wouldn't hurt to run it.
