Vista and WPA

Is there any reason Vista can't connect to a WPA or WEP encryption on a Linksys Wireless-G router but can connect to the router unsecured? We are able to change the SSID and set a static as well.

It's not Vista's fault, probably the wifi card you are using. Did you try updating the drivers for the wireless card? If it does not work, try a newer wifi card.
