Cpu frequency locked?????

Hi, i have the mother board biostar tf8200 am+ and a phenom 9950 processor, and it won't let me change the cpu reference clock from the default 200mhz...is there any bios options or anything i need to do in order to enable changing this? i've tried almost all bioses, including one that a review site successfully overclocked with -_-. So...tell me what i need to do XD. Also, does anyone happen to know how nb temps are for overclocking for this mobo?

try updating the bios. the best way to oc it, is to just raise the multiplier.

Hey look in your BIOS for a MANUAL option......my Abit AN9-32X wont allow it either unless i switch to "User Define".

i tried dloaing manual for ur mobo from Biostar and it was gonna be like 25 minutes (mind you i have Comcast highspeed)

Hi XD_dued, I went researching your board and was hoping it wasn't a locked option in the bios for ya.

I stumbled across this article from PCStats: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=2344&page=3

in there the 3rd and 4th image shows how to potentially overclock the FSB, but i dont have time to look into the details just yet. Hope this helps

Did you read your manual? It appears that your board has a section in the BIOS specifically for overclocking, with actually quite a lot of features.
