Is it safe to turn off firewall when downloading malwarebytes

Found avgui.exe on computer. Tried to stop process but it says I don't have the permission, even though I am the administrator. Downloaded malwarebytes, but it tells me to turn off firewall. Is that safe to do?

From where did you download Malwarebytes, legit site ?
At what point are you being told to turn off the firewall ? If it is during installation of MBAM, and you are not connected to the Internet, it is safe to turn it off, otherwise, No ! Just remember to turn the FW back on when finished with the Install.
