weird memory reading (help)

recently built a new system with 8GB Kingston RAM (Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX6400D2K2/4G).
for some reason CPU-Z is stating the following:

type: DDR2
Channels: Dual
Size: 8192 MB
DRAM Frequency: 366.3MHz


Surely the DRAM Frequency should be 800MHz???

Please help

it should be 400MHz, since its DDR (the actual frequency is twice the amount shown). Are you overclocking? Have you fiddled with th FSB? Give us the specs for the CPU too.

Motherboard: ASUS P5N-D
CPU: Intel quad 6600 (at default of 2.4GHz)
Memory: Kingston HyperX 8BG DDR2 PC2-6400 (800MHz)
Graphics: Nvidia 8800 GTX
Sound: Create-XFI Platinum


Thanks for feedback. If it should run at 400MHz then its running slightly low although the FPS on all games is so good anyway i might just leave it at this...

By default, the ram will run at 533mhz with Q6600 (1066/2). You can try manually setting up the ram to specs in bios. You may have to use a cpu/ram ratio to do that.
