My onboard Audio is Realtek ALC 662 on ASUS P5S-MX SE motherboard. The output is working
but the inputs (Mic and Line In) are not working. What could be the problem

Open Sound Volume in the system tray to the Advanced View and make sure the Line-in and Mic are enabled.

Could it be your mixer is not setup to allow those inputs to enter the sound system?

Some of the Realtek systems have a mixer completely dedicated to output, and another for input.

Double-click sound icon in tray (if you have it there) and look at what the mixer is set to do.

Click Options, Properties, and look for a drop-down box that now says under "Mixer Device" Realtek HD audio Output and click the drop-down box and see if there is a Realtek HD Audio Input that can be selected, and therefore adjusted.
